In recognition of a generous donation from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the IAS was named the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study in 2013. In December 2018, a delegation from the Trust comprising Mr. Anthony CHOW, Chairman; Mr. CHEUNG Leong, Executive Director, Charities and Community; and a group of voting members visited HKUST. They were shown the University’s latest developments in education and research and the Sustainable Smart Campus initiative. After the visit, President Wei SHYY hosted a luncheon attended by HKUST members including Prof. Andrew G. COHEN, IAS Director, Prof. Ching W. TANG, IAS Bank of East Asia Professor, and Prof. Henry TYE, IAS Professor.
